Flavor of the week

This week we're going with the Raspberry Cheesecake Topped.

One of my favorite Ben & Jerry's flavors out there.

The fruit makes it feel lighter, and the cream cheese base is so thick and rich.

It genuinely turned out as one of the best Creami pints I've made.

My roommate rates every flavor I put in front of him.

He gave this one a 9…

He's a harsher critic than I am because I gave it a 10.

Rapid Reviews

If you know me at all, you know I love Fairlife.

But I recently came across Wegman's Hi-Pro protein milk.

I got a carton and the first thing I noticed is they have the exact same ingredients and almost identical macros.

Only difference is Wegman's gives you one extra gram of sugar and protein.

The other big difference is the price. Wegman's is about 35-40% cheaper.

Outside of that, the taste is basically the same.

If you put them side by side most people couldn't tell you which is which.

I can tell a slight difference with the mouth feel, but that's because I've had fairlife about a million times.

At the end of the day, it's effectively the same product for less money.

P.S. If you don't have a Wegmans where you live, a lot of other grocery chains like HEB and Kroger are doing the same thing.

In the Lab

Two weeks ago the stars aligned.

I put up a story asking what pasta dish I should remake but with more protein and less calories.

And a ton of people asked for carbonara.

That same week, I went to a restaurant and had the best pasta of my life.

Guess what…

Also carbonara.

So I knew I had to give the people what they wanted.

High-protein carbonara meal prep with blended cottage cheese sauce

Watch the full video.

Turns out carbonara is a simple dish, and a few tweaks get us exactly where we want to be.

The real upgrade here is the cottage cheese.

I know what you're thinking…

Eli…not another protein recipe with cottage cheese.”

But trust me, this one actually works.

Blend it up, add some parmesan, a few eggs and a generous amount of pepper.

You'll never know it's different from the original.

Protein pasta sounds like a nice swap, but the macros are actually almost the same as regular pasta.

190 calories either way.

You get like 3 more grams of protein, a little extra fiber, but that also means a slightly chewier texture.

(I used protein pasta, but just go with whatever you prefer here.)

And then get some center cut bacon to shave off some calories and fat.

That's it.

Five ingredients.

Tastes like something you'd order at a restaurant.

And has great macros: 362 cal 42g C, 10g F, 25g P, 6g Fiber (per serving)

What food should I turn healthy next?

The most common response will be my next recipe video!
