Flavor of the week

My favorite pint I made this week was the Biscoff Blizzard.
I'm not going to pretend this one is groundbreaking.
Vanilla base. Biscoff cookies. That's it.
But here's the thing…
Dairy Queen pulls this exact same move.
They take one base and just swap the mix-in for every single Blizzard on the menu.
Low effort? Maybe.
Smart? Definitely.
So this week I leaned into it.
Two tips that make this one top-tier:
1) Freeze the cookies first.
I keep a full ice cream bar's worth of mix-ins in my freezer at all times. Oreos, nilla wafers, biscoff, brownie bites. Freezing them makes them stay more in-tact when you mix them in.
2) The side-hole method.
Instead of putting the cookies straight down the middle, make a hole off to the side.
The blade only catches part of the mix-in instead of smushing all of it.
Bigger chunks. Better bites.
And if you want to take it further, you should check out my Biscoff Cookie Butter recipe.
Just add a little cookie butter emulsion and cinnamon to the base. It's next level.
Rapid Reviews
I've been eating Prime Bites for about two years now.
To this day, one of my favorite low calorie, high protein desserts is one of their warmed up brownies topped with a few scoops of whatever Ninja Creami I have on hand.
So I've tried basically every flavor they've made.
Here's my current top 3:
- Chocolate Glazed Donut
- Glazed Cinnamon Roll
- Red Velvet
(heads up, they've cut a lot of flavors over the years, so this is my top 3 of what's still in stock)
Every single flavor is rich and fudgy. Nothing like a typical protein dessert.
And they were kind enough to give me a link to help you save some money!
So I've attached that here and to the picture if you want to try them yourself.
Like always, not going to advocate for anything unless I actually use it.
And I use these all the time.
The verdict:
8.1/10

In the Lab
I just got back from Mexico City.
I don't know about you, but the main reason I travel is so I can eat as much good local food as possible.
And that's exactly what I did.
I had the best cinnamon roll of my life at a bakery called Panaderia Rosetta. Laminated dough, kind of like a croissant, super cinnamony but not too sweet. 9.7/10.
Some of the best sushi I've ever had.
Tons of tacos, tostadas, and seafood…
I even went to my first Michelin starred restaurant.
We didn't hold back for one meal and everything we ate was great.
Every night I went to bed stuffed. Not the good kind of full.
And somewhere around day four, my body started sending me signals.
I started craving my routine.
Not in a guilty way. The trip was worth every bite.
But after eating clean and working out consistently for years, my body was craving getting back to what it's used to.
I'm not saying any of this to brag.
I'm sharing this to encourage the people on their health and fitness journey.
Getting where you want to be is hard, but once you're there, maintaining is much easier.
And once you maintain long enough, your body wants to keep you there.
I haven't tracked macros in years.
I don't have to be locked in 24/7/365.
I know what food is nutritious, and my body craves it. I just have to listen to it.
So if you're trying to lose weight, or gain muscle, know that there's a light at the end of the tracking every gram of food tunnel.
And know that reaching your goal is worth it.
