Flavor of the week
We're going to stay on the Summer Sorbet Series this week with Grape Sorbet.
This is one of the biggest (and one of my favorite) hacks for the Ninja Creami.
And it's only two ingredients:
Sprite Zero and grapes.
That's it.
Add grapes first, then your Sprite Zero, and immersion blend until you get the carbonation out.
You can't skip that step.
Soda expands like crazy when it freezes.
So if you don't get the carbonation out, you risk warping the pint, or worse, breaking the machine.
This one's perfect for summer.
Refreshing, easy, and you might already have both ingredients in your kitchen right now.
Works with other fruits too.
I've tried it with watermelon, and I've heard others have tried strawberries, blueberries, and even mango.
Rapid Reviews

I got my hands on Nurri's Protein Milk this week.
Full transparency, this was part of a brand deal.
And you know my stance on brand deals: I'll always tell you when I'm being paid by someone, and I never agree to a partnership unless I truly like the product.
I liked the vanilla a lot. The chocolate was fine, but not quite as good as Fairlife's.
At 20 grams of protein per cup, it has about 1.5x the protein you'd get from regular milk.
The increase in protein also comes with an increase in price and calories.
But everything about this puts it right in between protein shakes and regular milk.
It's slightly more expensive than milk, and cheaper than a protein shake.
It's thicker than milk, but not quite as thick as a shake.
And the protein follows the same trend. Right between both.
So in my mind this is great for people who are trying to get in some extra protein, or people on a bulk.
Especially if you're already drinking whole milk, this is a great option.
The verdict:
7.9/10

In the Lab
Healthy pasta has come a long way.
And I mean a long way.
Chickpea, edamame, lupini bean pastas all had that unmistakable "healthy pasta" texture.
Not anymore.
I tried a few high fiber pastas recently and some of them are almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
Fiber Gourmet's light penne: 110 calories, 7g protein, 24g fiber per serving.
Carbe Diem has nearly identical macros.
Both use vital wheat gluten and modified wheat starch to get the texture and macros dialed in.
And when I looked further into it, it surprised me how long brands have been doing this.
Protein pasta's been around for two decades. Chickpea pasta showed up over a decade ago.
But it's finally getting really good.
The standard for healthier options (in my mind) is you want it to be 80% as good as the real version.
If I made regular pasta next to one of these and had you blind taste test it…
You'd still probably notice a difference honestly.
BUT it's 90% of the way there.
So it more than meets the standard.
Here's how you know it's really taking off:
Generic store brands are starting to make their own versions.
That doesn't happen unless a lot of people are buying it.
If you haven't tried protein pasta in a few years, this is your sign to give it another shot.
