Flavor of the week

There's one recipe I get asked about more than anything else.

The one people make first.

The one they keep coming back to.

The Oreo McFlurry.

My most viral recipe of all time.

It just never misses.

When someone asks me what to make first when they get a Ninja Creami, this is it every single time.

If you haven't tried this one yet, this should be your next Creami pint.

I've been on a chip kick lately.

And this week I tried the Protein Doritos.

Here's the thing about chips in general...

Every bag, “healthy” or not, is about 28 grams per serving for 130-160 calories.

Most have 2 grams of protein.

These have 10 grams for 150 calories.

And they actually taste like Doritos.

The ingredients hold up too. Milk protein isolate, casein, whey concentrate.

Those are legitimately solid protein sources.

The only thing holding them back is the serving size.

10 chips goes fast.

But the price? A 7oz bag for $4.47.

Quest chips run $7.99 for 4oz.

That's over triple the price per ounce.

The verdict:

8.9/10

For some reason Ben & Jerry's discontinued their Cake Batter flavor.

So I decided to recreate it to see what we're missing out on.

After trying it, I'm even more confused on why they stopped making this.

It's so good.

And every now and then I get curious about how many calories I'm saving from just switching out real sugar for Lakanto's Classic White Monk Fruit Sweetener.

So I ran the numbers.

With real sugar: 498 calories, 73g of sugar.

With Lakanto: 256 calories, 10g of sugar.

Same recipe and the same taste.

But with half the calories and a fraction of the sugar.

None of my recipes would be possible without monkfruit sweetener.

And I get asked a lot about which one to go with.

Here's what I'll say…

I've been using Lakanto for 6 years.

If I found something better, I would've switched.

Hopefully that answers the questions.
