Flavor of the week
The last red velvet recipe I posted just crossed 6 million views.
So I made another one.
Red Velvet Oreo.
And it's actually one of my favorite pints of the month.
There's one thing you need to pull this off though...
Red velvet extract.
Without the extract, you just have chocolate ice cream that's red.
And that's what it tastes like.
With it? You get the cream cheese, the frosting, the full cake-batter experience.
The extract is the difference between red chocolate and red velvet.
Check it out.
Rapid Reviews
This week: Loonen Water.
You've probably seen it blowing up all over social media.
3rd party tested, glass bottle, no microplastics.
The marketing checks all the right boxes.
But at the end of the day…
It's just water.
And not even the best water I've had. It's mid-tier at most.
$35 for a six pack and I don't even want to know how much it is if you buy one in the store.
I only tried this because another creator gave it to me.
I would never spend that much on water.
And neither should you.
The verdict:
2/10.
Forget it.
In the Lab
Diet soda is one of the most slept-on ingredients in the Ninja Creami game.
And it's probably because Ninja literally says not to use carbonated drinks in the Ninja Creami manual.
But if you know how to do it right, you unlock so many nostalgic recipes.
Dr. Pepper float. Coke float. Root beer float.
Even a 2-ingredient watermelon sorbet made with Sprite Zero.
All that flavor for 0 calories feels too good to be true.
There is a small catch…
You have to get the carbonation out before it goes in the freezer.
Use an immersion blender, a hand frother, or just stir it around and let it sit on the counter for a while.
How you do it doesn't really matter, just don't skip this step.
If you do, the soda will expand, create a massive hump, and you risk breaking the pint and the Creami machine.
This is the exact reason Ninja says not to use it.
Once the carbonation's gone though?
You're in the clear. Make all the floats and sorbets you want.
P.S. If you've never tried diet soda mixed with a protein shake...
You're missing out.
It tastes exactly like a dirty soda. And you don't even need a Ninja Creami.
