Flavor of the week
This week's Creami pint is Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
The key ingredient here is the Brown Butter Bakery Emulsion by LorAnn Oils.
This stuff feels like a secret weapon.
It's 0 calories per serving and it adds that rich, nutty flavor you only get when you brown your butter.
Yes, this is a brand deal, so there's a few things I want to call out quick:
- My top priority is making sure these recipes are high quality, macro friendly, and most importantly, DELICIOUS.
- If something compromises those 3 things, I won't even look at the deal.
- I'll always be transparent when I have a brand deal (there are more of these coming soon)
Rapid Reviews
Last week I went to an event called Expo West.
I tried over 200 new healthy food products, but one stood out.
My winner of the week was Legendary Foods Protein Mac & Cheese.
It tastes exactly like the Kraft Mac n Cheese we all grew up on.
But one big difference…
290 calories. 47 grams of protein.
Not a typo.
They basically reinvented the noodle from scratch using egg whites and bone broth.
And somehow they were able to keep the texture the same as normal pasta.
The verdict:
9.6/10.
Find it.
In the Lab
Like I mentioned a second ago, I just got back from Expo West.
This is basically the Superbowl for healthy food brands.
The ultimate goal is to land shelf space at big retailers like Costco and Whole Foods.
Lucky for me that meant sample after sample…after sample.
But coming away from that event, there are two trends I can't ignore:
Protein is still as hot as ever.
People keep calling it a fad and saying it's overblown.
They're wrong.
It's just getting started.
And the next big thing?
Fiber.
Most people are barely hitting their daily goal and don't even realize it.
My prediction is, just like we're seeing “high protein” everything, pretty soon we'll be seeing “high fiber” everywhere too.
Fiber is where protein was 3 years ago.
Here are some easy wins for you: fruit and veggies, beans, nuts, seed-based breads and high fiber tortillas (look up the carb-counter ones).
What products are you using to hit your fiber and protein goals?
